The Deathly Hallows

It’s a movie night right in the middle of SPM! Can somebody say madness?

So the final chapter of epic saga continues. You know it feels like I grew up with Harry Potter movies. The first movie was released if I’m not mistaken, when I was 11, the same age as the Chosen one in the Sorcerer’s Stone.

But we ALL should know what happens in the end. Voldemort obviously dies. WHAT? You expect him to live and conquer the muggle and the magical world? I ain’t spoiling anything here…

However over the years, we’ve got some pretty unfabulous reviews regarding the previous movies. At least, until AFTER the Prisoner of Azkaban. Fortunately, I guess the producers must have taken the matter at hand.

The first part of the final movie in the Harry Potter series comes with a nice blended mixture of comedy, romance, BROmance, action and horror. One moment, you’ll find yourself laughing. The next, you’re jumping out from your seats. Oh and not to mention the emotional conflicts.

I applaud the arrangement of the plot. Dividing the story into 2 parts sure must have been tricky. So well done to that. I thought the movie ended pretty well, with a thrill that would get viewers interested in the next movie.

The downside? Like most Harry Potter movies, if you have never read the book, or at least watched the previous movies, then chances are you will end up asking a lot of questions. Like “Who’s Bill?” (Btw, he’s Ron’s brother, the oldest if I’m not mistaken) or “Why ah…” or “Where ah…” blablabla. One may also have the trouble of identifying recurring characters like Prof. Lupin and Fleur Delacor. Introduction to characters may appear a little poor, but hey that’s what you get if you dunno the world of Harry Potter.

A children’s novel? Maybe. But NOT this movie. You have to watch if you want to know why. This is one’s highly MATURE.

Funny stuff: I actually find most of the scenes in the forest really Twilight/ New Moon- ish. It would be funny if all of the sudden Edward Cullen appears out of nowhere, and our heroes would mistake him for Cedric Diggory back from the dead. Read and watch the Goblet of Fire if you have absolutely NO idea what I’m talking about.

All in all an excellent comeback. I honestly thought it was gonna be another “might-as-well-watch-on-Astro-movie”. I was wrong. Honestly, I’d recommend watching this in the theaters.

The most memorable person in the movie? You should know la haah… The girl with the looks that drive the men nuts.  Whose name starts with E and ends with -mma Watson:
